Retraction Policy

The SUKISOK Journal of the Arts and Sciences upholds academic integrity and transparency in publishing. A retraction may be issued when:

  • There is clear evidence that the published findings are unreliable, either as a result of misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or falsification, plagiarism) or honest error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error).

  • The work constitutes plagiarism or reports unethical research.

  • The same data or article has been published elsewhere without appropriate disclosure, permission, or justification (duplicate publication).

Process:

  • The Editorial Board will conduct an initial investigation based on COPE guidelines.

  • Authors will be informed and given an opportunity to respond to the allegations.

  • If retraction is warranted, a Retraction Notice will be published in the next issue and linked to the original article.

  • The original article will remain online, clearly marked as “Retracted” on every page, with a link to the notice explaining the reason for retraction.

2. Complaint and Appeal Policy

The SUKISOK Journal of the Arts and Sciences welcomes well-grounded complaints and appeals related to editorial decisions, ethical concerns, or publication processes.

Complaints may concern:

  • Alleged editorial misconduct, bias, or conflict of interest.

  • Delays in review or publication.

  • Ethical breaches such as plagiarism or data manipulation.

Procedure:

  1. The complaint must be submitted in writing to the Chief Editor via the official journal email.

  2. The Chief Editor will acknowledge receipt within five (5) working days.

  3. The matter will be reviewed by the Editorial Board or, when necessary, an independent ethics committee.

  4. A formal decision and rationale will be communicated to the complainant within thirty (30) working days.

Appeals
Authors may appeal editorial decisions if they believe:

  • A decision was based on a factual or procedural error.

  • The review process was unfair or biased.

Appeal Process:

  1. Authors must submit a written appeal to the Chief Editor within 30 days of the decision.

  2. The Chief Editor will assign an independent reviewer or an appeals committee not involved in the initial review.

  3. The final decision of the Chief Editor, based on the committee’s recommendation, will be considered binding.

3. Corrections Policy

The SUKISOK Journal of the Arts and Sciences is committed to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors are identified in published articles that do not warrant retraction but may affect the interpretation of data or readers’ understanding, the journal will issue a Correction Notice.

Types of Corrections:

  • Erratum: Issued for publisher errors (e.g., mislabeling, author affiliation mistakes).

  • Corrigendum: Issued for author errors (e.g., minor data errors, misstatements).

Procedure:

  1. The error should be reported to the editorial office.

  2. The editorial team will verify the claim in consultation with the author(s).

  3. If confirmed, a correction notice will be published in the next issue, linked to the original article.

  4. The online version of the article will be updated with a footnote indicating the correction.

4. Funding Sources Policy

Transparency in funding is vital to ensure the credibility and independence of research.

Disclosure Requirement:
All authors must clearly state their funding sources in an Acknowledgment section of their manuscript. This includes:

  • Financial support from government agencies, foundations, universities, or corporations.

  • Non-financial support such as equipment, data access, or personnel assistance.

  • Statements declaring “No funding was received” when applicable.

Conflict of Interest:
Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be perceived to influence their work.

Editorial Responsibility:
The Editorial Board ensures that disclosure statements are complete before publication. Failure to disclose funding sources may lead to rejection, correction, or retraction of the article.
